Blessed are the Poor in Spirit

Matthew 5:3–12 is known as the Beatitudes. In each statement, Jesus describes who is “blessed.” A word that does not simply mean “happy,” which is subjective. Instead, its a, congratulations, for those who are rightly aligned with God—walking in His ways and receiving His favor.
