The Power of Parables

Jesus used parables as His primary teaching method because they make spiritual truth accessible, memorable, and personally challenging. A parable is simply an earthly story that carries a heavenly meaning, designed to close the distance between what we know in our heads and what we believe in our hearts. Parables also reveal the condition of a listener's heart. Those who are genuinely seeking God will press in and ask questions, while those who are not will simply walk away. The good news is that God has not stopped speaking this way. He is still using the ordinary moments of everyday life to communicate spiritual truth to those who are paying attention.
